Being an American abroad

I never met someone that was rude without reason. Everyone in Greece and Italy was kind and understanding (assuming our groups were not loud). Many people appreciated the broken Italian or Spanish that I sometimes spoke in Italy. When we told people that we were Americans we quickly followed it with "But we don't like Trump," and most of the locals would laugh with us and sometimes gave us free things.
