The Roman Forum

Out of the assignments we completed, the day where we made mental maps of our favorite monuments and buildings was my favorite. Madison, Nicole, and I chose two of our favorite monuments each, and I created a collage of the pictures I had taken. It combined my love for creating visual representations and my enthrallment with walking through historical remnants. We created a replica of the map of the forum and marked our journey between our favorite sites. The Arch of Titus (shown above in the center at the top) and the Basilica of Maxentius (shown above in the center) were truly marvelous and grand structures. The sheer size of the basilica was imposing compared to the rest of the forum. The extent of the details in the relief of the arch (shown below) was truly breathtaking.
