For my internship at ASTEROID, I took part in a group project where we designed a starting base of operations on the moon. The plan was to start with a temporary base on the surface and use robots to collect data on the regolith. The initial crew will be constructing and supervising construction of underground habitats in the lunar lava tunnels. I led the efforts on the Structural Systems, Mechanical Systems, and Life Systems teams of the project.
