CAD Software
When I was in High School, I was introduced to Autodesk Inventor in an introduction to engineering course. Computer Aided Design has been an interest of mine since I first discovered it. The software has given me the ability to create 3D models and print them using a 3D printer.
I have completed projects on my own and in a more advanced CAD class. In this class I used SolidWorks to create models for simulation and analysis.
The GIF is made up of CAD drawings that showcase different components from a roller coaster that I designed with a team of 4 students in a Dynamics course.
coding
Since High School, I have taken four courses on coding and learned the basics of several languages. My experience includes Java, C++ in Visual Studio and Unity, C# in Visual Studio, and the multi-paradigm software of MATLAB.
In Visual Studio and MATLAB, I created many programs that ask for user input to change how they function. Some programs were designed to read information from external files and pull data from those files as inputs for the program. I also coded mini-games where the computer makes decisions based on the user's choices and the most beneficial decisions to get the computer closer to winning.
I have dedicated a page where I showcase some of my coding projects. Check it out here.

CommuniCation
My extensive volunteer experience has allowed me to interact with people in a wide range of demographics. I helped children and adults find books in a library, I discussed library programs with parents and their children, and I arranged food packages with high school and college students at a food bank.
As part of the Global Ambassador program at the University of Arizona, I had the chance to communicate with groups of students from many backgrounds. The group of students that I worked with had students whose first time in the USA was at the University and through this program. It was my job to communicate with them and ensure they have an enjoyable experience at the University by being someone who could relate to them and provide information on things in Tucson.
Computers and Programs
I have extensive experience in computer programs. I am comfortable learning new programs and languages to solve problems or create projects for fun. As a student at the University of Arizona, I have access to many programs. Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, MATLAB, Autodesk Inventor, and SolidWorks are all programs I use. I have used all of these programs for school related projects and personal projects.
This video is of a roller coaster I designed with a small group of engineering students. A video game was used to simulate our design and create a visually appealing model for the class project.

Customer Service
My experiences as a server and volunteer have provided many opportunities to handle impatient and unhappy customers. When handling upset customers, I am understanding, and I look at the situation from their perspective. My goal is to deescalate the situation and ensure I leave them feeling satisfied and comfortable.
Successfully increasing a customer's satisfaction has many steps. Communicating with people from different areas (management, wait staff, host/ess staff, etc.) aided me in leaving the customer feeling cared for and appreciated. Once I fully understood the situation, I made informed decisions to improve the customer's experience.

Cultural Experience
I have lived in several different socioeconomic areas and experienced their lifestyles. I have lived in a standard two parent household, a single parent household, and a household with a stepfather. I have experienced life under a budget barely capable of sustaining a family, a budget that would not sustain a family without proper savings, and a fair budget that is easily capable of sustaining a family along with the occasional emergency.
I was also lucky enough to travel to Italy and Greece to study abroad. While there, I experienced new perspectives on how others live. We were in tourist destinations like Athens and Rome, so there were homeless people asking for money on nearly every corner; families, veterans, and refugees were consistent sights. I attempted to learn Italian phrases before the trip, so I could communicate with some of the locals. Because of my efforts, I was able to receive several free appetizers and many smiles of appreciation.

Languages
Languages, like STEM fields, have interested me since I started school. I have had bilingual friends since kindergarten. I asked them to teach me phrases because speaking multiple languages was appealing to me. I studied Spanish from middle school until my fourth semester of college, I have taken courses in several different coding languages, and I have studied some Italian, Greek, German, and Russian on my own. I am planning to learn Russian in case I am ever selected to work in space. English and Russian are the two most spoken languages in space, so I need to be able to communicate with Russian speakers in the event that I get to work in space.

Leadership
As an engineering student, many of my classes require me to work with groups of students on projects. I try to be fair when I get new groups by attempting to create discussions and disperse workloads as evenly as possible. When we work together in our classes, I try to make sure my group is understanding the material to promote an environment to discuss confusion.
I was also a captain of my high school swim team, so I have experience leading large groups of students in activities that are not only mentally strenuous but also physically challenging.
Photoshop
Photoshop is one of my favorite programs. I use Photoshop to create images and edit PDF files with less rigidity than Adobe Acrobat. I have created collages, advertisements, and completed homework through the use of Photoshop. When asked to print out homework and submit a PDF online, I opted to write my work in my notebook instead. I did not have access to free printing, so I transferred my work through the use of Photoshop to a PDF of the homework for submission.

I have a page dedicated to my photoshop activity here.

Public Speaking
I have given several presentations and speeches in front of large groups. In the clubs that I am involved in, I have had to give presentations on projects and designs that my teams and I created.
In Global Ambassadors, I gave speeches to large groups of students to get them interested in studying abroad so they can join Global Ambassadors as well. In SAE F1, I presented ideas on how to adjust parts and complete projects to the club and to specific project leaders. In AIAA, I presented the rocket design my team is using as well as the expected results of our rocket to the entire club.
In high school. I had many opportunities to speak to large groups of people. My senior year, I took a research class and gave a 30 minute presentation over my findings. As captain of the swim team, I gave weekly pre-meet speeches, and I also pitched the continuation of our annual food drive to the team's booster club. They were planning on canceling it because they believed the team did not want to continue the event, but I convinced them otherwise.
